My daughter has a dwarf chinese hamster. Is it normal for his pink bum to protrude so much?

It looks like the poor thing has piles, but he seems healthy, lively and in no pain. Its not inflamed.

Thanks for your help.

  3. They don't have bums.

    Those are his testicles.

    ...Mhm.

His balls. Not inflammed. Not piles. It's testicles.

  4. Hamsters often have large testicles when they are in season. However, if it begins to change and look red and sore then go and see your vet as it could be something more serious.

  5. I believe it is as it's a unique feature of that type.

  6. hi i think you should take the hamster to the vets though are you sure its not his testicles????

  7. You have a male hamster and what you describe as protruding pink bums are the hamster's testicles. They can grow huge, especially with Syrian and Chinese dwarf hamsters. They can protrude / retract especially when the weather is hot so there is nothing to worry about it.
