My dwarf hamster has had many lumps all over his body for about 3 months now. He is very old (1 3/4 to 2 years old). The Lumps dont seem to bother him at all. My mom wont let me take him to the vet because he is so old. I love him so much but it is wierd to touch the bald lumps. I am preatty sure the arnt tumors they're abscesses. What should I do?

  1. You put your Dwaft Hamster into a garbage box and forget him. You have to love yourself more than him. Save your life.

  2. let it die.

it's gonna die soon anyways, just leave it.

    and let it die peacefully.

  3. the ones on the back are his scent glands (dont worry about them), but he may have an abcess on his stomach. take him to the vet to be either put to sleep or fixed up.

  4. you could be right . Abscesses are usually caused by bite wounds from fighting. These often form hard painful lumps under the skin where the puncture wound has closed up. Hamsters can also get abscesses in their cheek pouches - these would've resulted from puncture wounds from food or bedding materials. If you suspect an abscess in your hamster, you will need to take it into the vet to have it drained and antibiotic therapy started.

just clean the cage more often too and make sure no foreign materials are getting into the cage
