Dwarf Hamsters or a pair of Gerbils?

Question

I thought for the LONGEST time that i wanted gerbils but now that I did some research on dwarf hamsters I'm kinda stuck on what I should get.......I want something........

-playful

-cute

-fun to be around

-I want something that would be awake from 3:30pm-9:00pm because I will home at that time

-nice all the time

-rarely bites

-doesn't smell

-doesn't make that much noise

-something I can hold

PS- my sis is getting a Syrian hamster so if you can give me any info that you know on them would be helpful

Gerbils, because hamsters are nocturnal and will only be awake at night. Gerbils are diurnal so they have on/off sleep cycles throughout the day and night.

-nice all the time - gerbils are such sweeties! hamsters tend to bite

-rarely bites - gerbils

-doesn't smell - gerbils

-doesn't make that much noise - if you have a wheel in there that squeaks, either could make noise, and gerbils soemtimes make noise from chewing things all the time.

-something I can hold - hamsters are easier to hold than gerbils, but gerbils can be tamed to be held

well i have 2 gerbils and 2 russian dwarf hamsters but i would say dwarf hamsters as gerbils make noise and unless tamed they are rather hard to handle.hope this helped and good luck with your dwarf hamsters or gerbils!!!:)

You will NOT be able to play with the Dwarf Hamster..they are very quick an not to playful...I would go for 1 hamster (female) Males look gross with there big balls...Gerbils are just nasty...my dad brought me home some one time an they were smelly....

get a gerbil i have had 4 and they are so much fun but people do thin they are not cute because they llok like mice but thjey are funnier and better then and they are fun to give baths
