Dwarf hamster playing dead?

my dwarf hamster seemed to play dead when she was scared today. is this normal? if not, what can i do?

  1. As I've researched and owned hamsters, I've noticed their habit of "playing dead."  You have to remember the way they live in the wild where acting like they're dead meat is one of the best stagegies for survival.

    I would love to see pictures!!

  5. is normal mostly they do dat when they r babies like 2 months old or 3   so yea it's normal  

  6. It's an instinct they adopt when they feel under threat.  They "play dead" so their attacker loses interest.  Cheeky, aren't they!!

  7. That's normal.  When they are afraid or feel threatened they flip on their back, stiffen up, and sometimes put their paws in the air.
