Dwarf hamsters' sleeping patterns ?

Question

what are the sleeping patterns of dwarf hamsters ? are they awake during the day or sleep during the day like syrian hamsters, and do they adapt to their owners schedual ? like say if i keep the cage in my room, and im up late doin homework etc, would they also be up ?

I believe they're nocturnal, which means that they sleep during the day and are active at night. You can change this, however, by putting its food out only during the day. It will eventually learn.

hamsters are crepuscular they are most active at twilight and dusk

They are nocturnal so they will sleep during the day and are awake at night, but will probably wake up if there is a commotion in the room.  Please don't try to change their sleeping schedule. But if you want them to be awake when your in the room then just give a light tap on the cage and they will surely wake up.

dwarf hamsters are nocturnal...although mine did wake up and play for a little while during the day also

please don't try to have them sleep on your schedule...it's their nature to sleep during the day.
