Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard refuse West Indian contracts
West Indian all-round cricketers Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard have decided not to accept the central contracts offered by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 Cricket Board.
The all-rounder duo were offered a contract worth US$80,000 each, but it was rejected by them. According to the contract, the players have to be available to West Indies cricket all through the year, which
could have interfered in their aspirations to play T20 club cricket all around the world.
Pollard was selected by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians in the 2010 edition of the Indian Premier League for a whopping sum of $750,000. The IPL, which is played over six weeks, is the richest cricket league in the world
and there have been occasions in the past when the cricketers from around the world have had friction with their cricket board about their participation.
Pollard is also a much-desired cricketer in the other T20 tournaments like the English T20 Cup and the KFC Big Bash T20 in Australia. In the last season, he played for Somerset and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Australia-c844 apart from
the Mumbai Indians.
Bravo was also a part of the KFC T20 tournament, apart from having played in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 domestic T20 tournament and the IPL. Pollard and Bravo are teammates in the Mumbai Indians side. The pair also
play for the Trinidad and Tobago side in the domestic competition in the West Indies.
The West Indian cricket board has said that Pollard and Bravo will be replaced by two other players, earlier, the board had not offered the central contract to Ramnaresh Sarwan citing his lack of fitness
as one of the reasons.
According to the West Indies Cricket Board rules, they had afforded contracts to 25 players. Twenty-two of the 25 players had accepted the contracts, while one of the players wanted an extension. The board
had also added that they would have no qualms in choosing the West Indian squad from outside the contracted list of the cricketers.
