Dwayne Bravo expects an enthralling ODI series with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 – Cricket News Update
After whitewashing New Zealand in the short T20 series last week, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 all-rounder, Dwayne Bravo, has warned his side against complacency when playing the Blackcaps in the five-match One day International series, commencing at Sabina Park,
Kingston, Jamaica on Thursday, July 5, 2012.
"We have to concentrate on what we have to do as a team and also what we have to do to improve and move up on a team,” said the 28-year-old hard-hitting batsman on the eve of the ODI series opener.
Darren Sammy-led West Indies cricket team crushed the Kiwis by 56 and 61 runs respectively in the two-match T20 series played at Lauderhill, Florida, over the last weekend, breaking their seven-match losing streak. Their last win in an international
match had come at home in March this year - a 14-run win over mighty Aussies in the second T20 International at Bridgetown.
The Windies went winless during last month’s tour of England, losing five of the total seven matches played across all the three formats of the game, while the rest were washed out due to persistent rains.
Bravo, a hard-hitting right-handed batsman and a useful right-arm medium pace bowler, admitted that the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 tour was tough challenge for his side; however, he was happy with the way the Windies bounced back in the neutral venue T20 series against
New Zealand last week.
"We went to England, where the conditions were different and we weren't on the ball. It was a difficult series for us," said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Bravo-c1379, who has played 40 Tests and 124 One Day Internationals for the Caribbean islands.
"We bounced back with two wins last weekend against New Zealand so hopefully, now we are back home, we can expect a very good start to the series and kick on from there. We are looking forward to this series ahead of us," he added further.
Though the Kiwis sit ahead of the Windies on the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 ODI rankings with a difference of one rating point only, the latter have by far been the stronger team in ongoing itinerary, and Bravo backed his side to continue its dominance during the fifty-over
encounters as well.
