http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Bravo-c1379 over the moon after beating Pakistan – Cricket news
Dwayne Bravo, the West Indies captain, is over the moon to have started their http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Champions Trophy 2013 campaign with a victory against Pakistan at the Oval and was all praise for his bowling line-up.
Having opted to bowl first, the Caribbean men delivered the goods with the new ball, thanks to a brilliant spell by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KAJ-Roach-c1758, who rattled the Pakistani batting line-up. The right-arm pacer picked up three wickets in his quota of 10 overs, having conceded
just 28 runs. He was ably supported by the rest of the bowling line-up as well.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 to just 170 runs; however, chasing the low total was not a walk in the park for Bravo and company as they lost eight wickets in the process.
While expressing his views in the post-match presentation ceremony, the all-rounder mentioned that he did not want a strong Pakistani bowling attack to have the first go on a fresh pitch, which is the reason why he decided to put the opposition in first.
Bravo said, “Tough situation. Lot of credit to the boys. Kemar set the stone, backed up by Rampaul and Narine. Yes it was a close match but it is important to get the nerves out of the way. We didn't want Pakistan to bowl first, because there would be moisture
and movement.”
This was the all-rounder’s first match after being officially appointed as West Indies’ captain of the 50-overs format. Bravo took the opportunity to praise the efforts put in by the Pakistani bowlers.
“They bowled really well in the chase too, but credit to the boys. Words can't explain how it felt. Last time http://www.senore.com/Cricket/CH-Gayle-c1221 mentioned in the meeting that The Oval is like a home game. We were outnumbered by the Pakistan fans, but we enjoyed it,” he added.
West Indies will play their next match of the all-important competition against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 on Tuesday, which appears to be a mouth-watering encounter, taking into account the current form of both the teams. However, Bravo would love to see his batsmen coming
up with a better performance.
