Dwight Howard, Amar’e Stoudemire - Top Active players in NBA without a Championship ring (Part-4)
Dwight Howard
Coming into the world of NBA in the 2004 NBA draft with a gigantic physique, incredible leaping abilities, great athleticism and exceptional basketball skills, the burly centre Dwight Howard was expected to stockpile countless
achievement in the early years of his career.
The big man didn’t disappoint his fans and stamped his might on every court he set foot on right from the very first game of his career. During the seven dominating seasons with the Orlando Magic, Dwight Howard has amassed several
NBA and franchise records and is also the three-time reigning Defensive Player of the Year.
However the most prominent achievement of all - the NBA title - is the only thing that lacks in his resume.
Since coming into the league, the 25-year-old Howard might have strived every season to nab the NBA Championship Trophy however it’s not going to take too long now for the big man to secure his first NBA title.
Unlike LeBron James who left Cleveland Cavaliers and joined Miami Heat after the 2009-2010 season on the quest to put on a championship ring, the 6 foot 11 inch Dwight Howard have indicated that he will not leave his current team
Orlando Magic.
Although Howard has no plans to shift his talent somewhere else at the moment, however if the team fails to add some strength on the supporting cast for the big man and Dwight’s championship dream continues to linger, there is
a possibility that Howard may follow the footstep of James.
So, in order to keep Dwight Howard in the team, Orlando need to come up with a second scoring option to alleviate some pressure from their superstar. Howard only needs some support on the front court to take Magic on the top as
everybody known that Howard is a beast on the defence and no one does the job better than him.
Amare Stoudemire
The versatile power forward Amare Stoudemire is another example of the players leaving tier original draft team out of frustration of failing to nab an NBA Title.
Former Phoenix Suns prolific player Stoudemire joined New York Knicks before the beginning of the 2010-2011 season. In the middle of the season, New York Knicks took an encouraging step for the newly acquired NBA superstar by bringing
the coveted Carmelo Anthony in the team.
Having two best offensive threats of the league in one place, New York Knicks received a major boost up and they raced away into the play-offs after failing to do so in the last six seasons. However the championship dream of Amare
Stoudemire remained unfulfilled as the Knicks were knocked down by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the post-season.
The 28-year-old Stoudemire still has many good years left in his career and his surge to nab an NBA title is quite attainable. Amare and Anthony failed to form chemistry in their first year together which became apparent during
the season when both were not able to lead the team collectively.
Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony, both are without a championship ring and they need to define their individual roles in the next season to carry out the most prominent achievement.
