Dwight Howard, Steve Nash - NBA players who may appear on the trade scene next season (Part 2)
2. Steve Nash
Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns is at No. 2, as he had also created swirls in the trade speculation. However, his franchise had so far maintained the same stance which was, he is not on the block.
The Suns achieved a 40-42 record in the previous NBA season and fell on the 10th spot in the western standings. As per that record they were failed to register a place for them in the 2011 postseason. So considering
their situation, NBA analysts advises them to bring in some fresh talent in exchange for the veteran point guard, who had maintained a brilliant scoring rate of 14.6 points, 8.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game, even at the age of 37.
This is the time when the Suns should laid down their future plans in order to have a pool of skilful players with some experience to turn them into a championship contender in the coming years.
Nash still has a high value in the league and the Suns will get a good price for him, if they put him on the trade block next season. Otherwise the franchise is wasting a good chance to form a young and solid roster for the future,
because it wouldn’t take much long for them to realize how far they are from a championship contender status, once the 2011-12 season kicks off.
3. Dwight Howard
Orlando Magic’s dazzling centre, Dwight Howard is at No. 3, as the player had created most vibes in the trade buzz. Several trade scenarios had been heard, but so far none of them seems to be getting mature.
However, this doesn’t mean that Howard had scraped his plans of shifting. He had just put his shifting plans on hold because of the work stoppage and whenever a deal is reached between the players and owners, Howard will definitely
start listening to the offers.
As far as the magic are concerned, the franchise is trying their best to keep the All-Star in the side. For that very reason, several plans were proposed by the National Basketball Association analysts. Among these plans one is
to bring in another star player, who would team up with Howard in order to give the championship contender status.
However, since the franchise is among the ones that are not making profits, therefore it would be hard for them to not to listen to the offers that’ll come their way. So it’ll be better for the Magic to work on a new strategy that
does not include Howard.
