Laker's coach Mike Brown is going over the moon on Dwight Howard's participation in practice despite the obvious limitations......
Dwight Howard made his way to the Los Angeles Lakers from Orlando Magic during the summer in a four team block buster trade. Great news for Lakers fans, right?
The latest reports from the Lakers training facilities will sound even better for all the Lakers fanatics. The big man has been taking part in practices and went through training on Wednesday morning without facing any trouble
from his surgically repaired back.
Howard participated in all two-on-two, one-on-one and three-on-three practices. And even though there was not that much which Howard himself acknowledged, big man putting in training has made Mike Brown very optimistic.
"I don't know when he's coming back or whatever” Brown said. "As much as he's practicing, to me, he's back."
Howard's recovery process has been somewhat of a mystery and after the whole blown up trade situation with the Magic; the superman is naturally hesitant about revealing anything about his rehab. He however said on Wednesday, that
he won't be back on the court till he is a 100 percent;
"I'm not playing until I'm 100 percent. Just because I'm doing drills with the team or running up and down, it doesn't mean I'm ready to play in a game. There's a difference between running up and down and being actually out there
battling. When I'm 100 percent and able to go, then I'll go."
The Lakers coaching staff is closely monitoring the progress Howard is making and have refused to set a date for his return at the moment. Until then, Howard cannot be expected to take part in any of the high contact scrimmages;
"Just waiting for the doctors, the trainers and Dwight to clear him, and when that happens, he'll go full tilt," - Brown added;
A fit Howard, along with Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash and Pau Gasol is a sight, NBA fans are dying to witness ever since Lakers pulled off ‘the’ biggest coup of the off season, nearly a month back. They are certainly one of the top
contenders for the coming season and whether or not, they win it, the foundation for future has surely been laid.
