Dwight Howard’s future still uncertain: Deron Williams not sure where the big man is headed – NBA Update
The saga involving Dwight Howard’s next possible destination is back and it has all the media attention again.
Howard has been seeking a trade away from Orlando Magic for over a year and has reported to have shown interest in going over to join Brooklyn Nets and play alongside Deron Williams, another player that had been drawing a lot of
interest regarding his future.
Williams removed the big question mark looming over his future by agreeing to sign a five year deal worth $100 million with the newly re-located Nets. He played his cards smart and remained free of any controversy, however the
future of Howard still remains undecided and controversial. The drama it seems will not be coming to an end, any time soon.
Williams has been taking part in Team USA’s training camp for the Olympics and in a media following practice on Monday was asked the question regarding Howard’s future. Williams dodged the question though and remained adamant on
being uncertain regarding the big man’s future.
“What about Dwight. I don’t know anything. I just hear rumours and speculation….”
“There have been a lot of rumours over the past year where he is concerned, so early on I concerned myself with it,” Williams said, “but now you just have to let it play out. And whatever happens, happens. I think we’ll have a
good team without him and I think we’ll have an even better team with him. But the situation is tricky.”
According to recent reports, the Nets and Magic are looking to materialize a deal for Howard, which would also involve the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers in a move that would change the future of 12 players in the
NBA.
However it still remains uncertain as to what the dynamics of the deal would be that would ensure the rise of another top contender in the Eastern Conference.
If the long awaited move does happen this summer, it would mean that the newly found Brooklyn team would be one of the strongest teams for next season with Howard playing together with Williams, Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace.
