Dwyane Wade braves migraine to scorch the Philadelphia 76ers: NBA Update
Despite experiencing migraine, which forced him to miss the training session on the eve of the second game between the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers, Dwyane Wade grasped the American Airlines Arena court on Monday night.
The prolific shooting guard, who is known as one of the key pivots to Miami’s pursuit of Larry O’ Brien trophy this fall, posted 14 points and six rebounds, as the Heat once again outclassed the Sixers with 94-73 win and took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven first round series.
Before the game the South Beach was abuzz whether the 6ft 3in guard will be able to make it to the game. Wade however showcased the extent of his determination and played for 34 minutes.
Apparently showing no signs of pain, Wade did not even wear his special tinted glasses for protecting his eyes from the extra-brightness, which was diagnosed to be the reason for aggrandising his ailment.
Dwyane Wade was not 100 percent fit in the opening play-off match against the Philadelphia 76ers, but was still able to score 17 points and seven rebounds with five assists. Miami won that game 97-89.
Speaking to the media after the game, Wade said, “I was just excited to wake up this morning without a massive headache.”
Wade is suffering from migraine since his childhood and recently it has been flared up severely. Wade also could not play against the Toronto Raptors early this year due to the same headache.
The Miami Heat's Head Coach, Erik Spoelstra, seemed very optimistic about Dwyane Wade and told the media about his current status.
“He's had these before and he's not the only one on our team. We've learned a lot more about migraines with him and James Jones having to deal with it, so he's able to manage it as well as you possibly can. He's as tough of a guy I've ever seen playing through sprains, bumps, bruises, hip-checks, all of these things, a migraine is a completely different affliction. People who've never had one before, including myself, we can't relate. My father used to get them all the time and it's a scary ailment."
After missing the particular game against the Toronto Raptors, the Heat's medical staff came up with an idea for Wade as he should wear special tinted goggles on his eyes to reduce the extra-light which is bothering him. Since then, he is wearing these generic tinted goggles and found them pretty helpful.
The Miami Heat's management knows the importance of Dwyane Wade, therefore taking much interest to help him fight against his migraine. The Miami’s management has decided to turn their home court, the American Airlines Arena, extra-brighter for their post-season home games as it will be more helpful for Dwyane Wade to see with those special tinted goggles.
