Dwyane Wade eyeing NBA glory after surgery – NBA News
Dwyane Wade recently underwent Lasik eye surgery to improve his sight. A number of Wade’s family members already had the surgery and recommended it to the Miami Heat superstar.
"I've seen a lot of people in my family get the eye surgery, and it's the greatest thing that happened to them," said Wade.
It was quite an experience for the explosive guard, who described it to reporters,
"It's kind of an amazing thing to see your eye wide open and to see something go right by it, see things touching it, and you can't even feel it," Wade said just after the surgery.
Lasik eye surgery is an increasingly common procedure and 90 percent of patients have given positive feedback after undergoing the procedure.
With the eye problem behind him, Wade is now going focusing all his attention on the coming NBA season (not exactly coming because of the lockout). Dwyane is hoping to win the NBA World Title for the first time since 2006 and he
has plenty of support with LeBron James and Chris Bosh on the roster as well.
The trio, who have been nicknamed the Big Three, failed to produce the goods at the first time of trying. They fell at the last hurdle, the NBA Finals, to the Dallas Mavericks. Many people have targeted the Heat to intense criticism
after the defeat, in particular LeBron James. Wade’s own performances were terrific throughout the Finals but he too was outshone by Dirk Nowitzki down the stretch.
However as many wise analysts, Shaquille O’Neal among them, have put it; it wasn’t as much a case of Miami Heat playing badly as it was of the Dallas Mavericks pulling together and putting out splendid performances. As Shaq said,
it was just the Mavs time.
Miami’s time will come though, Wade is confident of that. The Heat have only been together for a year and were just two wins away from the NBA World Championship. On the way to the Finals they defeated the mighty Boston Celtics
and extinguished the spark of Derrick Rose and his league topping Chicago Bulls.
Miami and Wade thus have reason to believe that they have what it takes to achieve their goal of dominating the NBA title scene for years to come. Dwyane Wade certainly thinks so and is already looking forward to the challenge.
He said he can only get better after his injury and sent an early warning to the rest of the league,
"I'm really looking forward to it. I know it's gonna help my life. It might help me shoot better, so watch out!"
If he does shoot better than his current levels, defences around the league are in a heap of trouble.
