The Miami Heat star believes that Los Angeles Lakers will just have to keep digging to sort things out…..
LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade did a lot of soul searching before they finally got their act together at the South Beach. The trio which was tipped to the all conquering juggernaut was the butt of all jokes after a 9-8
start to the season, but hung tough, and success slowly started coming their way. From December 2010 to January 2011, Miami won 20 of their 22 games, and were genuine title contenders when they entered the playoffs in 2011.
The journey was not easy for any of three superstars, especially for Wade. He was the man who won Miami the 2006 NBA championship, but after the arrival of LeBron, Wade was no longer the alpha dog at the South Beach. He had to
adopt a laid back approach and help James and a struggling Bosh to find their niche. And then there was the continuous scrutiny of media and haters, who wanted Miami to suck.
But Heat and its superstars stayed put.
“We were taking a lot of beatings on the outside, but on the inside we stuck together,” Wade said while talking to Jeff Caplan recently. “There was no pointing fingers and we worked hard every day to get ourselves out of the mud.”
Miami reached the NBA Finals in their first year together, and finally went all the way this June, when they thumped the Oklahoma City Thunder in 5 games.
Their challenges seem to be over, but are just starting for the Los Angeles Lakers, who are struggling to create an impact despite having a stellar starting cast. Wade has seen all that, and believes that the Lakers will eventually
sort things out;
“That team, you know once they figure it out they’re going to be a team to be reckoned with,” Wade said. “You got a bunch of veteran guys over there and it just takes one win, it takes them playing together and understanding it’s
going to take a while.
“Everyone wants it to happen now, but if they want it, then it will turn around for them.”
