Dwyane Wade not fazed by criticism; Says he has seen worse in his personal life – NBA Report
Miami Heat super star Dwyane Wade has said in a recent interview that he was not fazed by the vitriol spitted against him and his side during the last season.
Miami Heat became the most vilified team in the NBA last year. Their misfortunes in terms of popularity were related to their acquisition of LeBron James. James, Wade and Chris Bosh formed the Big Three for Miami and led the franchise
to the NBA Finals last season. However throughout the campaign they faced hostility from all around the NBA and people took joy in criticizing them, often for no reason.
Dwyane had said in a previous interview that he thought the negativity surrounding his side was unfair. He has though now stated that it didn’t really faze him because he has been through much tougher times in his life. Wade said
the experience last season was nothing compared to his issues growing up and recently with his ex-wife,
"My upbringing and my life was way harder than (last season). … Seeing my mom go through the struggles she went through was way harder than being booed," he says. "Way harder than someone saying, 'I hope you lose.' "
Wade’s mother struggled with drug addiction and the Miami guard also had a troubled separation with his ex-wife. The battle over custody for their two children was particularly nasty and resulted in a lot of pain for Dwyane at
an emotional level.
The player has been able to put those troubles behind him and concentrate on the future. During the off season he has been arranging camps for children to try and help them out. It is a matter close to Wade’s heart and the guard
revealed that his father too was involved in the process.
"My dad (Dwyane Sr.) and I are doing it together. We feel basketball is the best teacher for a lot of people who love sports," Wade says. "Everyone knows what I went through with my two boys custody-wise. My dad is really trying
to bring fathers back into the lives of their kids."
Dwyane Wade has certainly seen the best of both worlds. Personally he has been through tough times but now spends his time with his children and revels in it. Professionally too he went to the peak of the NBA back n 2006 when he
won the NBA World Championship alongside Shaquille O’Neal. Wade was named the NBA Finals MVP on that occasion.
Since O’Neal left wade toiled in Miami without much support, but now with the new look Miami side he is able to compete at the highest level once more.
