Dwyane Wade of Miami Heat ready to take on Sacramento Kings
Dwyane “Flash” Wade did not seemed bothered by an ankle issue at all, as he was able to practice on Monday with full concentration and energy.
The 29-year-old Wade is rearing to go, when the Miami Heat kicks off the second round of the season against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night at American Airlines Arena.
D-Wade is restless to rock the home court at Miami, as he is passionate to serve his team as much as he can and he cannot afford to miss any contest.
Wade said on Monday night, "I do not want to miss any time. It is not serious enough to miss any time".
With about five minutes remaining in the third quarter of the 2011 NBA All-Star contest, Wade attempted to spin a jump pass. Unfortunately, he landed on the foot of Deron Williams and injured his right ankle due to which he left the game and did not return.
Wade stated, “It was an All-Star Game. If it were a regular game, I would have tied my shoes up a little tighter and gone back out there”.
In nearly 21 minutes of play, Wade was in his zone. The prolific shooting guard shot 6-of-9 from the field to compile 14 points and chipped in with four rebounds. His absence down the stretch though greatly hurt the East's chances as they eventually lost
out 148-143.
The Miami Heat shooting guard himself ratified that he was worried for a few moments after his injury, but the pain soon subsided, as it was a minor issue.
Wade is averaging 25.4 points, 4.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.0 block per game during the season 2010-11.
Miami is behind the Boston Celtics in point in the Eastern Conference. The head coach of Miami, Erik Spoelstra, is concerned about his player’s fitness up til now the Heat have stayed hot with a 41-15 record during this season.
"We are into the final sprint and our focus is not just generically getting our game right", Spoelstra said. "We want to improve and reach another level, reach higher or another two levels, which we are capable of. In addition, I think that makes us unique
than most of the teams contending. We do not necessarily know what our ceiling is".
Wade is best known for his ability to convert difficult lay-ups. Even after hard mid-air collisions with larger defenders, the prolific sharp-shooter still finds a way to can the rim.
His sheer presence on the court is a source of inspiration and can lead towards victory. Especially when the margin of error at the top of the Eastern Conference between the Heat and Boston is so small, they cannot afford Wade’s injury as even a one-game
absence could swing home court advantage Boston’s way.
