Dwyane Wade questionable for tonight's game against the Indiana Pacers
At least one, and maybe both, of the Miami Heat’s co-captains will sit out their next game against the Indiana Pacers at the American Airlines Arena on Monday 22 November. Dwyane Wade
is questionable for the game as he nurses a sprained left wrist while Udonis Haslem is out indefinitely with torn ligaments in his left foot.
After morning shootaround Monday, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said the swelling in Wade’s wrist has subsided but the shooting guard, averaging 22.9 points per game, will be a game-time decision.
Wade injured his wrist in the Heat's 95-87 win over the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday after a collision with Charlotte guard Sherron Collins. If he misses tonight’s game, he will have missed
two straight. Haslem, the team’s leading rebounder, sustained his foot injury in the Heat’s 97-95 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.
Spoelstra told reporters after shootaround that he has enough players for them to remain competitive. "We feel we have enough. I just know we have to stick to our process. We have five
losses right now, and I know we have specific things we can point to."
Wade and Haslem join Mike Miller on the injured list, with the latter out at least another month as he recovers from a thumb injury sustained in Miami’s training camp.
"Both of our Florida Gators are down now so it's huge,” LeBron James said of Haslem and Miller.
Without Haslem in the fourth quarter against the Grizzlies, the Heat were outrebounded 15-4 in the final 12 minutes. James said his team felt the absence of Haslem, who averages 8.2 rebounds,
down the stretch Saturday. "We took a blow with U.D. going down. Someone has to step up."
Juwan Howard will be the likely replacement for Haslem at the power forward position while Jerry Stackhouse will replace Wade in the starting lineup if he can’t go.
