Dwyane Wade receives a job offer from former employer KFC - NBA Update
Miami Heat’s superstar Dwyane Wade’s comment on a social networking website “Any 1 Hiring” recently received a response. To make the matters interesting, it came from his previous employer, who is interested to have the All-Star
back in the same company where he worked as a teenager.
When many NBA locked out players are considering offers from the teams to play overseas, Miami’s shooting guard has been offered a job by one of the most popular food chain in America Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC).
The restaurant in the Chicago area has decided to donate $250,000 to the Colonels Scholars of the KFC and if the 29 year old Dwyane accepts the job offer, the scholarship will be handed out in Wade’s name.
The nature of the job is to work at the KFC drive-thru window as the superstar already has experience of the post in the one of the KFC franchise in Chicago.
The general manager of the organization John Cywinski said in the offer letter, “We couldn’t help but notice your recent tweet about looking for a new line of work in light of the lockout. We’re always looking for folks with precisely
your qualifications initiative, teamwork, and the ability to make buckets in a hurry,”
The officials from the renowned food chain stated that they are very proud to call Dwyane the former employee of KFC. The organization wants to have him back in the uniform to dish out the chicken the way Wade dishes out assists
on the basketball courts.
This is not a permanent job that Wade is going to perform. It seems quite absurd for an NBA player like Wade to go back and hand out chicken. Basically, KFC is taking this opportunity to give away some money to charity and at the
same time promote their product.
“Come serve as an honorary captain at a local KFC drive-thru window. And, while we can't match your most recent salary, we'll honour your KFC service by making a donation in your name to Colonel's Scholars, a charity providing
young people with much needed college scholarships, if you accept.” The general manager stated in the letter to Wade.
While the NBA is experiencing work stoppage at the moment for the second time in the league’s history and the player are officially on the dole, it would be nice for Dwyane to stand up for the good cause and accept the offer of
KFC for a shift or two.
The Public relation manager of KFC Rick Maynard said that the organization haven’t received any announcement from the All-Star Wade to accept the offer however they are hopeful and love to have Miami Heat’s superstar on the drive-thru
window.
