Dwyane Wade says Miami Heat have high expectations of themselves as they head to Boston – NBA Playoffs Update
With a storm around Miami Heat and their loss against the Boston Celtics in game-5 of the Eastern Conference Finals, the message from Miami’s super stars seems to have been lost. The Miami Big Three are on the verge of elimination and all the talk is about
how they would let down a lot of people if that were to happen.
The expectation built around Miami after the Heat brought in LeBron James and Chris Bosh to join Dwyane Wade and build the most talented trio in the NBA were understandably sky high. It is those expectations now that have turned against the Heat, putting
pressure on the star studded side to perform.
Dwyane Wade though doesn’t see the pressure. At least not on the outside. The Heat guard has said that Miami are under pressure, but that pressure comes from within; from their own drive to win and their own expectation to succeed.
"We got together, we want to compete for a championship, we want to win a championship every year," Wade said. "To us, it's not about outside expectations. It's our own expectations. You think if we lose, you guys are hurt by it? No. We are hurt by it.
Wade and Miami are now down 3 – 2 in the Eastern Conference Finals after starting out the series with 2 wins. Their last loss, in the American Airlines Arena, leaves them with an elimination game at the Celtics home; TD Garden.
The Garden is one of the toughest places around the league to get a result from, and Miami have lost both games there in the series. Wade though isn’t perturbed. He said these are the moments he dreamed of, this is the game he loves. So he will be ready
when the time comes.
"This is what we love to do," Wade added. "This is what our families love us to do. It's what we work all year for. We put a lot into it, obviously, as well as the other teams in the NBA. This is our job. So we're going to try to go out there and do our
job and try to get a win."
