Dwyane Wade says he can be successful playing with LeBron James – NBA Update
Dwyane Wade has made it clear that there is no need for change in the Big Thee of the Miami Heat, not of style and not of personnel. Wade was speaking after several analysts had questioned whether LeBron James and Dwyane Wade get
in each other’s way.
Wade and LeBron play different positions and have different roles. However, when it comes to offense, their skill set appears to be similar, something that even Wade agrees with. However what he does not agree with is the comments
of certain critics who suggest that Wade and LeBron have compatibility issues. Jeff Van Gundy even went as far as to suggest that perhaps one of the two could be traded to bring a different option for the Miami Heat.
It seems incredulous that the two players who brought the Miami Heat into the NBA Finals, past the Derrick Rose led Chicago Bulls and the veteran Boston Celtics, would be questioned on their compatibility. Therefore Dwyane Wade
said the two players could play together perfectly well. He said him and LeBron having similar styles was not a bad thing at all and the Heat will not be looking for change,
“I mean, obviously you try to get better in areas, but you can’t just say, ‘OK, since you’re a driver, I’m just going to become a shooter.’ That’s not what the organization wants me to be, that’s not we want him to be and it’s
not what our fans want.”
He went on to state that the two players work well together and their abilities give a headache to the opposition time and again
“Being similar players, that makes us dynamic, that makes us a special team, because we have similar capabilities and put pressure on defences certain ways.”
Dwyane pointed to the fact that such a great run at the first time of trying was testament of the duo’s ability to play together. LeBron James and Wade were both mightily effective for the Heat throughout the post season. However,
LeBron went off the boil in the NBA Finals and Wade seemed to be the one taking responsibility, especially in the final quarters of the series.
People have questioned LeBron over his non-performances down the stretch and whether Wade took away offensive opportunities from him. However, Dwyane rubbished such suggestions and said he is confident that the duo will improve.
Wade believed this season was just part of the learning curve and the players would return strong in the next season.
Wade firmly believed that he and James are “going to get better as we get more comfortable with each other, as our game continues to grow, and obviously for LeBron he’ll be more comfortable in his surroundings.”
