Dwyane Wade thinks LeBron James has just taken the first step on the path of success – NBA Update
Success is too small a word to sum up what the year 2012 has been for LeBron James.
James started off the year having to answer many of his critics and the biggest question was whether he had in him to win an NBA Championship. LeBron pulled of one of the best individual seasons this year which was rightly summed
by him winning an Olympic gold medal in London.
He started off by winning the MVP honours for the third time in his career but his first one since moving to the Miami Heat as the earlier two had come during his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He backed it up by winning the
NBA Finals MVP and leading his team past Oklahoma City Thunder in four games thus finally putting an end to his search for a Championship. And to cap of a strong year, he led team USA to winning back to back gold medals at the Olympics.
However according to Miami Heat team mate, Dwyane Wade, LeBron is just getting started and believes more success is due to follow soon.
“That monkey is off his back and now he’s just playing basketball,” Wade said. “I think we’ll see a better LeBron James - scary to say, three-time MVP - than we’ve seen. And it’s because all he has to do is play basketball now.
He doesn’t have to worry about what he hasn’t done. It’ll always be something, but he’s got the biggest one off his back.”
Who knows? Wade may be right in his instincts as we saw a completely different LeBron throughout the season.
James showed signs of maturity that had been missing from his game in the early stages of his career. And this all business – no games attitude has reaped benefits for him. LeBron’s determination can be summed up from the fact
that he was seen telling off Mario Chalmers for celebrating too early thus reflecting the attitude that getting the job done was first priority on his mind.
This could only depict a scary picture of other teams around the NBA as LeBron is only bound to achieve new heights now that he has gotten the Championship hurdle out of the way.
