Dwyane Wade uncertain for Game-2 against Philadelphia 76ers: NBA Play-off Update
The Miami Heat’s superstar, Dwyane Wade, is uncertain for the Eastern Conference’s play-off encounter against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night at the American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida. Wade was not able to attend the Sunday’s practice session
due to his migraine and might be resting in the second game against the Sixers.
Miami’s head coach, Erik Spoelstra, also spoke out about Dwyane Wade and said, “He had a headache yesterday that he played through the game with, so we're trying to be proactive with it as much as possible. He's had 'em before, so we'll have to see
how he feels at the end of the day. We really want to be proactive right now and keep him rested and take medicine and we'll go from there.”
Wade has also missed a game against the Toronto Raptors on 22 January due to the same migraine problem. Miami’s guard is battling with his migraines for eight years now. Throughout his entire NBA career, Wade has never able to cope with this constant
pain in his head. The opening play-off game against the Philadelphia 76ers was also not a good experience for him as he began feeling headache in his head, but still played the whole match and stayed until the end.
Wade performed tremendously against the Sixers in the play-off opener, as he posted 17 points and seven rebounds with five assists. The Miami Heat secured a great victory against the Philadelphia 76ers with 97-89 and grabbed the early lead in the best-of-seven
first round series with 1-0
After the victory, the Miami Coach, Spoelstra, commented on Wade’s performance in this particular game. Spoelstra said, “He was able to play through it. He said just before the game that he felt he had a headache, but you know how competitive he is.
He played that first New York game with the same type of lingering effects.”
When Dwyane Wade missed that particular game against the Toronto Raptors, he came back against the New York Knicks with special tinted goggles on his eyes to decrease the amount of light which was bothering him during the play at the court. But the
NBA rejected these glasses and approved the generic tinted pair of goggles for Dywane Wade.
The Miami Heat’s medical staff is still working with Dwyane Wade very closely and hoping that their superstar will soon be able to return with new energy in the remaining play-off encounters. The Miami’s management also took an additional step regarding
Wade’s migraine issues as they took an innovative ‘White Hot’ approach for their postseason home games. This innovation will turn the Miami’s American Airlines Arena brighter than usual providing Wade more effectiveness to adjust with these goggles.
