Dwyane Wade is one of the best scorers in the NBA, someone who has two championship rings to prove it. He led the Miami Heat back to the top of the league, winning the 2006 NBA Championship with Wade leading the pack with his scoring.
He has a great ability to penetrate into the paint, while also taking close range shots with ease. But it is his long range jump shot that has given him trouble these past few years, and has never been one of his strongest forts.
Last year, Wade felt that his range gave up on him and is looking to improve his jump shot and shooting range before the next season kicks off. He has even hired a shooting coach and is busy with him in the gym nowadays, as he
makes his recovery from a knee surgery a few months ago.
“I have one of the best mid-range shots in the league. But, obviously, when you have different injuries, it makes you change a little bit. So it’s just about getting back to that comfort of it and finding out where you are now.
The biggest thing is coming out of my pull-up without losing the ball and just making sure it comes through my hand the right way. When it comes to my shot exactly, I don’t have a bad shot. There’s other reasons why I come up short a lot. So it’s just trying
to work the kinks out,” said Wade while talking to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Wade’s hard work to get healthy before training camp and be back 100% for the start of the season, along with his determination to improve ahead of the upcoming season, are all good signs for the Miami Heat and their quest to win
back to back NBA championships.
Wade may or may not be the best mid range shooter in the league, but he is surely a critical component to the Heat offence and any improvements he can make to his game will ultimately help the team achieve its goals. Wade will
be one of the players to watch out next season.
