Dye test and pregnancy

coming week(10th day of my periods) i have some "dye" test in the hospital to ensure everything is ok with me ...i wanna know what do they do?how long is the test going to take?am going to be given anesthesia?

It takes about 30 minutes and can be somewhat uncomfortable (cramping). No anesthetic is given but I was advised to take 4 Advil's before the procedure.
