Question:

Dyeing a white top black? help-asap!?

i have a white nylon kind of material top and as the white has faded i wish to dye it black. i have bought a black clothes dye.

will the top be ok from colouring white to black?

will it go straight to black or will i have to dye it again?

the top also has a round plastic buckle style thing on the front, will this change colour or stay white?

plz help

  1. Nylon doesn't absorb too well , you will end up with a gray top .

    On the other hand if there is a bit of a natural fibre in the fabric it will work , if you can see this on the label it might tell you the exact content.

    The buckle will not  change colour


  2. I say "just do it".  You don't have anything to lose.  You said the top is not looking good anymore.  Do it and see what you get.  I can tell you to be careful of the dye washing out...read your instructions VERY carefully and follow them!

  4. Dye it but it might be a light black like grey not 100% black
