Question:

Dying Dark Brown/Black Hair Chestnut Brown ?

After asking what hair colour would best suit me (see below) I have decided to dye my tri-coloured mess of dark brown, black and dark auburn chestnut brown.

At the moment I am considering using Colour Oops or a different gentle colour remover first then dying over it with chestnut brown. Has anyone tried this and/or is it a good idea?

I'm not willing to do to a salon.

Also do you think this will be a good colour for me?

I was a golden blonde child whose hair changed to golden brown during my mid teens so I died it black then auburn.

At this moment in time (I'm 19) it is rather tri-coloured due to the fact that it has been dyed so very often.

My roots are growing through rather dark.

I have a very pale complexion with yellow undertones, unfortunately at time it is prone to going uneven with reddy pink undertones (both at the same time annoyingly).

I have strange eyes that change from dark brown to hazel green depending on my mood.

My clothing style is quite old fashioned and I spend a great deal of time around horses and playing traditional sports.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

  1. i suggest chestnut brown.

  2. chestnut brown

  3. you have to go to a salon because you have dark hair in order to dye it any other color your going to have to bleach it especially if your dying it chestnut brown cause that's a pretty light color sorry!

    hope i helped!

  4. do not do this yourself.

stripping your hair yourself is really difficult to get right,

when you do that your hair will be a yellowish colour, but when you add brown dye to this it will go green, i don't know why, it just does.

Hold out for a couple of weeks, save up some money get it done professionally, you may as well, because if you do a diy job you'll probably have to  get them to fix it anyway.
