I want to dye a cotton fabric to deep black...but it has different colors...like dark blue, red, pink, dark yellow, beige, and maroon...will that cause any problems?

  1. Since your started fabric has already been either printed or otherwise dyed, this will definitely affect the end result. You could do a little test swatch to see how it would come out before jumping all the way in. I wouldn't recommend RIT dye for this, you may need something a little more "industrial". What you're looking for is Procion dyes. These are designed specifically for cotton and other plant fibers. Getting a true and solid black may still not be possible, but using those dyes will be your best bet.

  2. Very likely to result in uneven color throughout.

Other colors will affect the shade of black.
