Ok so i keep dying my hair purple, have tried all the purples there are and it seems to just turn my hair red. like a dark red not very noticable unless in the light. I do have dark brown hair ...i mean VERY dark so i think this has something to do with it. The only option i can see is bleaching my hair and then dying it purple but i dont want to have bright purple hair and ya can be screwed if im gonna bleach it.

I just want a dark purple.

Any suggestions?

  1. yeah that happens when you have dark hair, maybe dye it white then dye it purple, but then im just pulling that out of no where, but who knows

  2. bleach it, you have to, otherwise the color won't take. believe me, i have naturally black hair and nothing shows up without bleaching first... Use RAW hair dye, the deep purple one. Leave it in for about an hour, maybe longer, and it will be super dark. Its the best purple i ever got, and dark color will last for 2 weeks, but the over all color will last for 6-8 weeks. It is by far the best purple i have ever used. plus it smells really nice =D

  3. A good purple semi-permanent dye is found at Walgreens. It's called SPLAT-hair paint.

If you use it without bleaching your hair first, your hair will still turn purple (as it is paint and not dye), but it won't have as much of an impact.

The product does come with it's own hair bleaching product as well as the paint, which are recommended for dark hair (i have black hair), but is isn't required.  The product is a paint not a dye, so it coats the hair, not change it...

Also, it lasts for a VERY long time!!! (I swim & shower daily and over the last two weeks it's barely changed.

  4. all you have to do is bleach your hair and

    then it will turn purple.

it wont get screwed up i had hair likes

yours and it was purple but i dyed

it again. but all you have to do is

bleach it, light brown it, purple it!

:D that's what i did and it worked great.

  5. Try dying your hair the lightest purple you can find. Or try something that make your hair purple. Since the purple you used turned your hair red. :)
