I'm sorting through my father's flytying equipment. I know Dyna-King is a quality name, but I don't know the age of the vise, or how much I should ask or expect to get if I sell it. It is a Large vise, a Barracuda maybe? I don't see anything referencing the 794 number so I don't know what it is comparable to. Any guidance would be appreciated.

  1. I don't believe they make a model that's called the 794, so your best bet would be to match it up the best you can by sight, and here's the sight...............

  2. Providing its in good condition , it should reach a fair price of around $150(up to $250+, depending on if its a better model), maybe a little more, i don't know that much about dyna-king vises(more a Renzetti fan myself) however i do know that they are a quality vise that have hardly anything go wrong with them, you could take it to a fishing tackle antiques sale and get it valued, but why not take up fly fishing/fly-tying, I'm sure your father would appreciate it more than it being sold, if not keep it a few years and it should gain value. Dont sell it on ebay a quality vise would be wasted on there, and the chances of getting its real value would be small.

  3. I've had a couple DK vises.  Excellent tools, though possibly a bit overbuilt.

Contact DK directly for information on your dad's vise:

FYI, these are lifetime tools.  An experienced tyer will expect to pay something for it.
