Dynamo Joe seals top spot in the Sprint Trophy Final
C. Weatherall trained, Dynamo Joe, smartly sealed the grand title of the Caffreys Sprint Trophy Final at Nottingham racecourse on Monday night, June 25.
With his impressive victory at Nottingham, over the 305 metre distance, the black dog is now unbeaten in four consecutive starts.
In the high-stakes Open Race, the momentous hound ran against Murlens Crash, Around Corners, Salacres Vision, Monleek Town, and Corleones Dondon, with his winning streak on the line.
After breaking from the orange box, Dynamo Joe seemed to be in an offensive mood, and just after a few seconds, the son of Westmead Joe managed to suppress his competitors.
Once he took the lead, the three-year-old hound endeavoured one challenge after the other, but maintained his position until reaching the finish line in 17.67 seconds.
He crossed the boundary strap at least 3 ¾ lengths ahead of his rivals. This was indeed a marvellous performance that justified the dog’s 10-11 favourite tag.
Dynamo Joe is good at maintaining and extending his winning streaks, as he did last year, when he strung together a 5 race win streak. Since the beginning of the 2012 season, he has accomplished a number of glorious triumphs.
After winning a race each in January, February and April, Dynamo Joe bagged a couple of consecutive victories over at 305 metres on both occasions at Nottingham in the month of May. During the first twenty days of June, he excellently achieved three magnificent victories.
Interesting to note is the fact that the dog ran each of his last 6 races with a favourite tag with the Trophy Final being the 7th one in this regard.
Among the other runners, Murlens Crash finished as a runner-up in the last night’s mega marathon. The David Pruhs trained brindle dog showed enough resistance against, Dynamo Joe, in the beginning, but failed to sustain his pace and started trailing.
He took 17.97 seconds to reach the finish line.
Around Corners, grabbed third spot in the race, as the G. Ballentine trained black b***h struggled hard to cope with the pace, and in the end gave way.
Prior to this race, she had won three races in a row from May 18 to June 18. The brilliant b***h slightly missed the runner-up rank by a margin of ¾ lengths.
Overall, the event was awash with thrill. The winner walked away with the cash prize worth £400.
