Dynamo Kyiv’s Yuri Semin expecting a UEFA Europa League win against Besiktas JK
Dynamo Kyiv head coach, Yuri Semin, has assured the fans of a better performance in the upcoming UEFA Europa League group stage game against Besiktas JK at İnönü Stadium.
The last time these two sides met, Dynamo managed to clinch a 1-0 win against the Super Lig club. Semin is of the belief that the Ukrainian Premier League runners-up will try to complete the double against the Turkish club.
The Russian coach went on to highlight the importance of the upcoming group stage encounter. He revealed that the White-Blues need to claim maximum points in the remaining group stage matches in order to progress to the later rounds
of the Europa League.
Dynamo are yet to lose a group stage match; after claiming five points in total, they are at the second spot on the group table. Semin insisted that they are in a close-knit group and the remaining matches will decide the fate
of the group.
The former Lokomotiv Moscow manager went on to reveal that Dynamo played quality football against the Turkish club previously and they are looking forward to another three points.
Speaking on the much anticipated match, the UEFA Cup winner highlighted that the team’s morale is high and they are up for the challenge against the Black Eagles. In the last year’s Europa League campaign, Dynamo thumped Besiktas
8-1 on aggregate.
Semin is of the belief that the Ukrainian outfit are in pole position to claim a win against Besiktas but warned his side to relax against a stern opposition, urging them to work harder.
“We are already well known to each other so there are no secrets between us. I would only say that it will be a very difficult match.” the Russian Cup winner was quoted as saying.
He added: “We need to think about the upcoming game and do not waste time looking so far into the future.”
