Krasnozhan has hailed Kuban Krasnodar’s latest Russian Premier League win against the Moscow-based club and has heaped praise on Dan Petrescu
Kuban Krasnodar recorded their second win under new head coach, Yuri Krasnozhan, in the Russian Premier League. The Cossacks snatched a 2-1 win over Dynamo Moscow prior to their 6-2 win against Volga Nizhny Novgorod last week.
As things stand, the Yellow-greens are at the seventh spot on the league table and trail the top spot by four points.
The Russian outfit signed Krasnozhan after Dan Petrescu joined Dynamo Moscow last month. The former Russian youth national team head coach signed a three-year contract at Kuban.
In aftermath of Sunday’s pulsating win over the Moscow-based club, Krasnozhan has hailed his side’s attitude, commitment and character, saying that he is delighted with the way his new team has performed since he has stepped in.
Though Krasnozhan’s team fell behind after conceding a first-half stoppage time goal, they bounced back after scoring two second-half goals including an injury time winner against the Dinamiki.
Krasnozhan revealed that his side deserved to win following their virtuoso display, as they wanted to prove their former manager, Petrescu, that the Russian outfit can get decent results without him.
“The match turned out very well for us but I think Dynamo does not deserve to defeat. We succeeded to score the winning goal despite wasting few opportunities at the beginning and in the middle of the first half. But we recovered
from the shocking start to the game after the break and in the second-half, I think we were on top of our opponents.”
“I did not see Petrescu after the match as he went straight to the locker room before the final whistle. However, we greeted each other prior to the start of the match.” The former Anzhi Makhachkala manager was quoted as saying.
Krasnozhan went on to praise Petrescu, saying that the Romanian tactician played a vital part in almost every individual’s growth and development as a player at Kuban. The former Lokomotiv Moscow man admitted that he feels comfortable
with the squad players.
