Aleksandr Kokorin believes that his side illustrated their potential after winning the latest Russian Premier League tie against Spartak Moscow on Sunday
In the latest round of Russian Premier League action, Spartak Moscow suffered a humiliating 5-1 defeat against Dynamo Moscow at Luzhniki stadium. The Red-Whites' head coach, Unai Emery, was sacked after the painful defeat against
their arch rivals.
Dynamo striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aleksandr-Kokorin-c4576, has hailed his side’s emphatic win against the Moscow-based club, saying that they truly deserved all three points after out-casting a stubborn opponent on the away turf.
Kokorin, who scored two goals before being substituted on 63rd minute in the thrilling league encounter, revealed that he was not happy to leave the field as he think that he was denied a chance to complete a hat-trick
on Sunday.
The mercurial forward was taken off the pitch, as a precautionary measure, after sustaining a knock on his knee. However, Kokorin was of the belief that he could have played the entire 90 minutes with pain.
The last time when these two sides played a league tie at Arena Khimki in August, the Spartachi managed to defeat the Dinamiki by a 4-0 score-line. Kokorin insisted that he is glad that his team have now avenged their earlier defeat
this season.
“I think Dynamo played the best match of the ongoing season. We were not expecting us to win with that much score-line. We were really disappointed after our first round defeat. But I am still upset not to play the full match. I
wanted to score the third goal badly despite the injury.” The former Lokomotiv Moscow player was quoted as saying.
Their latest win has now put them at the 9th spot on the league table with 24 points and they now trail the top-five spot by just seven points.
“It's a shame that failed to get the momentum since the start of the season. I hope everything turns out good after the winter break in the Russian championship.” He concluded.
Kokorin credited his side to recover after a nightmare start to the domestic campaign this term.
