Dynamo Moscow striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andriy-Voronin-c6020, has spoken of his delight after joining Bundesliga new-comers, Fortuna Düsseldorf, in a season-long loan deal. The Ukrainian forward’s loan will expire in June next summer.
Voronin, who joined the Moscow-based club from Liverpool in 2010 after spending a season-long loan spell at Hertha http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536, believes that his move was beneficial for both the parties.
“I am very happy to return to the German league. I had a few offers but the option to Fortuna looked good at the moment. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 is my second home, and the league is one of the best national championships in the world.” The former
Borussia Monchengladbach player was quoted as saying.
The Ukrainian star went on to talk about Fortuna’s manager,
Norbert Meier, revealing that the German tactician invited him to Germany when he was a 15-year-old.
Telling the reason behind making a switch to another league, the 33-year-old insisted that he had to leave the Moscow-based club after falling out with the manager, Sergei Silkin.
Voronin, who scored eleven goals in 37 Russian Premier League appearances last season, argued with Silkin over lack of playing time and decided to move on after he was not guaranteed a starting berth this season.
Asked if why didn't he wait for Silkin’s retirement, Voronin remained tight lipped to the question, saying that he will rather talk about his future than to discuss somebody else’s future.
Voronin insisted that he will never forget the beautiful moments of his career at Moscow and he is not too happy to change sides.
“The most tragic day of my life was when I realized that Dynamo does not want to retain my services. I do not remember the date but I want to tell the fans that I have always played with heart and soul at Moscow,” Voronin concluded.
The former Bayer Leverkusen player, meanwhile, assured the fans of coming back to his beloved Russian outfit, saying that he would not have moved to another club had the manager showed him some respect.
