Dynamo Moscow’s Kuranyi lauds Dan Petrescu’s work despite missing out Europa League - Football News
Dynamo Moscow striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Kuranyi-c20736, has stressed that he is enjoying life under Dan Petrescu at the moment, despite the fact that the Romanian tactician failed to help the Russian Premier League club in securing
Europa League title this season.
“The era of Sergei Silkin is well behind us now. He taught us great things, built a good team but then things did not go according to plan and he left. And now it is history. I'd rather talk about the present,
and the present is that we are playing well and fighting for top places. I still cannot believe it that we missed out a chance to play in Europe next season. It hurts, literally. Indeed, in the last game, we not only missed the opportunity to enter the international
arena, I also got injured the adductor muscle,” The former Schalke 04 man was quoted as saying.
The Moscow-based club missed out on the European berth after failing to win their last match of the campaign 0-0 against Volga Nizhny Novgorod at Arena Khimki last month. The host team were fortunate enough to
claim a point in the match given that the Volgari failed to convert from the penalty spot late in the goalless draw at Khimki.
They finished seventh on the league table, just three points behind fourth and fifth placed Spartak Moscow and Kuban Krasnodar respectively.
Kuranyi said that Petrescu, who replaced Sergei Silkin at the Moscow-based club after leaving Kuban Krasnodar last summer, has what it takes to alter the situation at the Moscow-based club after a disappointing
campaign last term.
The German International, who managed to score 10 goals in 27 league appearances last season, revealed that Petrescu has achieved impressive results in a short time and said that the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 player instilled
confidence in the players and brought hope to the fans.
Kuranyi heaped praise on Petrescu, saying that the 45-year-old Romanian tactician will make the Russian outfit one of the strongest European clubs in the near future.
