Dynamo’s Petrescu backs Smolov and Voronin to perform after Kokorin’s departure – Football news
Dynamo Moscow head coach, Dan Petrescu, has backed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andriy-Voronin-c6020 to help the Moscow-based club in clinching a top spot on the Russian Premier League table next season after Aleksandr Kokorin’s shock departure to Anzhi Makhachkala.
“We have a youthful squad at our disposal. At the moment, they are eager to fight for places and they are working out well in training. I trust them one hundred percent. Unfortunately, I cannot train Voronin who left the base a year ago. I do not know how
he will demonstrate his game next season. I hope Smolov will score as many goals as Kokorin next season. The management knows which players I want to see at Dynamo and at what position. We must become stronger in all departments either it is defence, midfield
or attack,” the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC player was quoted as saying.
Kokorin, who scored 10 goals for the Moscow-based club in 22 league appearances last season, joined the Dagestani club for reportedly 20 million Euros.
Both the clubs agreed in principal to conclude the deal after the Makhachkala-based club came up with the hard-to-refuse bid for the 22-year-old striker considered as one of the brightest prospects in the Russian national team.
Petrescu is left with Voronin, who returned to Arena Khimki after spending a season out loan at Fortuna Düsseldorf and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Switzerland-c3016.
The Romanian tactician, who replaced Sergei Silkin at the helm after a disappointing league campaign last winter, said that he completely believes the entire squad at his disposal. However, he urged the management of the Russian outfit to let him make new
signings for the future if they are to expect a better finish next time around.
The Dinamiki missed out a chance to qualify for UEFA Europa League after finishing at the seventh spot on the league table with 51 points. They remained two points below sixth placed Rubin Kazan.
Petrescu went on to lament Kokorin’s departure and said that he completely respect the choice of the player.
