Dyselxia and mild metal retardation.........?

Question

i know that dyslexia is associated with ADD, but can it be associated with mmr???

i took a test when i was 18, [i had to for a school i used to go to, it was a trade school] i didnt quantify for any classes , my reading and math scores were on a low leavel..... the reson why i think i have mmr is because i joke around continly , even at inaproped times.... could this just be my mentaily ...??? my friend jokes around like that too....... then i went to a college to prepare for my GED, and a professer said ..you dont have mmr........but i think i do...should i get tested again??? when i took tests at the other school for the classes, that what the ending resuit was...it kinda brings me down.....

Hon, you do not have MMR or anything like it!  You have two learning disabilities.  Couple that with that you are a teenager with at least a little insecurity!  My sister also has a learning disability similar to dyslexia and attended a community college to receive some extra education before going further.  This might be an option for you, too.  Adult high school might be a good choice, too.  When enrolling, take your paperwork that states you have ADD and dyslexia from whomever diagnosed you.  These papers should be taken to the office for students with disabilities.  After getting all the paperwork lined up, you should be eligible for some extra help and a different testing environment.   Study hard.  Disability or not, it's still your responsibility to be a grown up and perform well in school.  

ADD medication may also be helpful.  If you don't want to take it all the time, try taking it for a semester at least while you are studying and in class.

i wouldn't put much thought into it. look at the asians. they all share a common gene of retardation but if you put them in front of some numbers they excel! you don't have to be normal to be a productive member of society.

If you really think you have MMR, it would probably be a good idea to have someone test you.  Mental retardation means that someone has an IQ of 70 or less (low intelligence), not that they joke around inappropriately.  People often use the word "retarded" to talk about something being silly or inappropriate, but that is not the official meaning.

Dyslexia is usually defined as difficulty in reading that is not explained by mental retardation and other things.
