  1. I had a dyslexic maths teacher in grade 12. He was brilliant, but he sometimes got a couple numbers mixed around.

I've heard dyslexia is a sign of intelligence as the way a dyslexic mind is to comprehend the whole idea at once and very quickly, however the details sometimes get a bit jumbled up.

  2. the best wqays to minimise the problem is to get him to study every day a bit with reading and writhing storys

    einstien was dyislextic

  3. I used to be dyslexic, but im k.o now :)

  4. he has to learn how to get red of it and not be ashamed of it and you have to give him the power to do this.

    hope i helped you

  5. my boyfriend has it but he will just sit and try reading a book i and it anit much that you can really do if he doesnt want to do it

Good on you! Check them out for yourself too...how YOU can help him...not just for him to help himself. There are a lot of highly intelligent Dyslexics out there ... with just a little bit of polishing you might find you have a diamond of excellent value.

  7. just have patience.  We started off by playing "spill and spell" it is similar to scrabble but not as concentrated.  By playing games your memory increases too.

  8. Both my daughter and I are dyslexic and we found when reading to have a coloured overlay (my daughter now has the Irlens lens), I am studying part time so I have class notes and hand outs on cream coloured paper, (you may need to experiment with colours), don't read when tired, as fatigue really does cause major problems with reading.

For spelling have a copy of spelling rules, frequently misspelled words, homophones and frequently Confused Words.

With support and encouragement we dyslexics can learn to improve our abilities in reading, writing etc, but it is not easy and some times darned hard.
