  2. Try this site

  3. If your still at school your head teacher can arrange for you to be tested by the school Psychologist and then a work programme will be made up for you depending on your learning needs,if your and an adult your doctor can arrange tests

  4. my site...

    www.geocities.com/carjug

It is untested and unproven, but if the site "works" for yuou then you have a reading problem that is not dyslexia.

Also, the best dyslexia tests I have heard of involve color naming. They are given in expensive clinics.

Information Google Sally Shaywitz ,limit the search to images. Buy her book, Overcoming Dyslexia from Amazon.

  5. I am not sure whether there is or is not such a test.  However, years ago I was asked to help a boy whose school said he was not dyslexic.  It became clear to me he must be by all *sorts of clues that could not all be detected by an online test.  the clincher was reading Dr Beve Hornby's book which I think was called from Alpha to Omega and related to a course she had developed to help dyslexics.

*for example, lots of dyslexics cannot have a deep conversation without leaning against something for support.  they often do not recognise they are doing so.  It seems to relate to the fact they need to concentrate more when using language and they therefore do not want to have to concentrate on keeping their balance as well.  I understand that also, if you try to get a dyslexic to stand on one leg and close their eyes, they will wobble more quickly than a non dyslexic.  Thoughts may have changed since I first diagnosed the first student I came across with this problem.  I could probably identify a definite dyslexic quite quickly if I saw some of their work and watched them for a comparatively short time then had a short discussion.  There are lots of clues, not just a few obvious ones.

There are lots of adults who have never been diagnosed.

Most dyslexics I have come across are very clever and very logical, particularly in the ways things work.

  6. OLD and TIRED....

  7. If you are a public school student, the public schools are legally required to test you for free. You would make an appointment with the diagnostician.

If you are not enrolled in school, you would make an appointment with a psychologist.

It would cost--but your state's vocational rehabilitative services department would be able to cover the testing if you approach them first and you can present other evidence that you are a person with other disabilities.

Self-testing is the worst possible approach somebody can do for anything. You subconciously conduct the testing with a 'bias' for specific results.

  8. Your spelling at any rate is a d**n sight better than any others I've seen here today!
