  1. You are smart. People with dyslexia just think differently that other people. I know that you can get any job you want as long as you work at it.

I have dyslexia and I am getting A's - B's in college. I know it is hard to focus on some subjects (mine was English) but you can do it.

I also work at a local high school as an special education assistant with low functioning teenagers with autism.

  2. you are Dyslexic.......so whats wrong with that?  Just look up world famous people who have had Dyslexia....put teh question in Google...you will be surprised at the results that will follow.  Let me tell you among others Eienstein was a dyslexic.....do i need to say more.

You will do well only if you are focused and determined.  Ask for help from your school or ask about how to get special help.  Dyslexia can be overcome if you get the right help and trust me there is a lot of help out there.  Just search for it.  Go to google and type what problem and difficulty you are having and you will be astounded by the information there to help you along.

Just remember the only person who can help you the most is you yourself.  If you are determined you will get what you want...remember if there is a will there is a way.

    Best of luck

  3. Hey there

Dyslexia is a gift! You have a unique way of looking at the world which makes some things really easy for you that other people find hard. Unfortunately you find some things hard that other people don't. It's awesome that you are so motivated to succeed and it's great that you have a goal. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't achieve your goal.

If your dad is earning an awesome salary, maybe you could talk to him and see if he might pay for you to do a course run by the Davis Dyslexia Association. Go to www.dyslexia.com to find out more about it. These people will not try and "cure" you. They view dyslexia as a gift so they don't try and make it go away. What they do is help you to sort out the problems you might have with reading and writing so that you can do well at school and university.

Good luck, and I hope you achieve your goals

  4. you'll be fine- you may just have to work a little harder, that's all. my father is slightly dyslexic and he became a special education teacher!

  5. You clearly have the passion you need to get by. Even if it does mean you have to work a little harder than the average person. You'll do great in life.

  6. With a medical condition of Dyslexic you could not pass the vision test to receive a pilots license. However there may be types of employment that you will elegible for. Why don't you try to take courses in order to take computer science. classes.  You will earn a very respectable salary. Do not let the dyslexica hinder you in goals in life. I have a serious medical condition that would cause most people to stop their education. I have earned a bachelors degree in education and library science. I wish the best of luck in your life. Have a great life.

  7. of course u will succeed!! If u really want to and work hard u will succed at anything!!! If u want a good job u should contact connect ability, if its not only for CT.  But, if it is im sure theres one in ur state.   just belive in urself.

  8. Just because you have a disability doesn't mean that should stop you from doing what you want to do. There are famous people out there who have dyslexia. I have a friend who is a graphic designer who has dyslexia. With the extra help, you can pursue anything you want to do.

  9. With support both at home and school, and a lot of hard work on your part, you can succeed in life, it is not easy and never will be, but you can do it, with some copping strategies.

I failed high school, could not read until 14, and still have major problems with reading and writing. I had know idea I was dyslexic, and was diagnosed when my daughter was. I learnt as much as possible about dyslexia, and how best to support my daughter both at home and school, I then used these tips to go back to school to gain some qualifications, as a Youth & Disability support worker. It has been a fairly rough road, but it can be done.

You have one up on me, I hated maths and still do, I have dyscalculia. Use your stronger skills to your advantage, talk to the schools Career Counselor to get an idea of how you can use your stronger skills to gain meaningful employment.

Don't give up and if you would like some information on copping tips and strategies, within school and home please contact me.
