  1. He can't read or write...go to the Dr...he'll be tested further...the next step will be special classes or lessons to help him to cope...don't worry, with the right help, he will be able to be very successful...

  2. Sorry to sound rude but I think maybe you should look it up on google instead of yahoo answers..its not something to play around with, its bascilly when you see words backwords or write backwords like, etirw sdrowkcab (write backwords)

  3. I would get on-line and do some research on your own, so you feel more prepared for Monday.  I would recommend you write down a list of questions that you have, so you don't forget to cover any bases while you are there.  There are many good resources out there on Dyslexia, if you search for them.  Ask your child's doctor for any pamphlets or websites that can help you out too!

  4. No two people with dyslexia are the same. It's a learning disability that can be overcome with therapies that your son will probably get in school. It won't disappear over night but there are lots of ways to help now that it's been identified.

Some of the brightest and/or most talented people in the world have dyslexia. If you want to see a list of famous adults who've struggled with dyslexia, see the link in source. Google dyslexia and you'll find lots of creditable information.

  5. aww sorry dyslexia means you can read or write like most people

  6. He has trouble reading.Having dyslexia does not mean that your child has difficulty learning subjects other than reading or is below average in intelligence. In fact, many people with dyslexia are above average in intelligence. However, not being able to read fluently or quickly can make many areas of learning more challenging. There are several ways to treat dyslexia, all of which involve educational tools. Medications and counseling are not used to treat dyslexia. United States federal law requires that schools develop an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for children with dyslexia. You, your child's pediatrician, teachers, and other health professionals will all have input in the development of this plan. The plan offers intense, individualized education to retrain the way the mind processes sounds within words. The plan is revised annually based on your child's progress and individual needs.

  7. it means he can't read or write the same way as others

sorry if this offended u or ur son, just trying to be truthful

  8. Dyslexia is a learning disability that has to do with written language such as reading and/or spelling.  In most cases, the mind of a person with dyslexia will read the letters or words on a page backward or upside down.  It can happen with all types of people, average to gifted, so don't be frightened. Dyslexia usually only affects the writing and reading area of an individual and therefore there is no need to worry about other subject matters such as math.  There are many treatments available, most being related to phonics tutoring, so there is a lot of hope for your son.

I recommend looking at the Wilson reading system as a program for your son, but it is necessary for you to see his doctor and go from there.  Talk to his teacher first about the primary areas where your son needs help and bring those issues to his physician and maybe even a psychologist.  Be gentle when telling him, if you already haven't.  Make sure that you let him know that he is no different than any other people.  Dyslexia is a very common disorder with up to 17% in the United States diagnosed.  If your son is young, all the better as he while have much more time to get the education best suited for him.  I wish you the best of luck and was glad to be of assistance.
