Manchester City striker, Edin Dzeko has gone on to blame his team’s loss to Real Madrid to their lack of experience, and feels that they should have gone on and picked up all three points from the game.
During the game, Dzeko went on to score the opening goal of the game, after he came on as a second half substitute. He raced onto a Yaya Toure pass, and then slid the ball into the back of the net.
However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcelo-c23554 then went on to score for Madrid, as he fired a deflected shot into the back of the net. Kolarov then went on to score for City and give them the lead once again.
However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Karim-Benzema-c20350 went on to score another equaliser, which was soon fired by a match winning goal just minutes later.
As a result, City went on to lose a game, where they had the lead on not one, but two occasions.
Dzeko is one of the players who is not taking the news too well, as he feels that City should have held onto their lead, and picked up the win.
When talking about the match, following the very disappointing loss, the Bosnian striker is reported to have said: "We led 1-0 and then 2-1, then we gave away these two goals at the end.”
"This shouldn't have happened because if you want to win big trophies you shouldn't lose this game. I hope we can get stronger because it was almost like we had not enough experience.”
He then went on to stress over the fact that the team was leading by two goals to one, and if they hadn’t made life so easy for their opponents, they would have taken all three points from the game.
"We were 2-1 and in three or four minutes we gave away two goals. It was too easy. Too easy."
Nonetheless, the team is now going to have to go on and come back even stronger next week, as they look to prove their worth and assert their dominance on the European stage this time around.
