Manchester City striker, and Bosnian international, Edin Dzeko has gone on to insist that he doesn’t plan on becoming a super sub at the club, as he hopes to become a regular part of the first team in the near future.
Despite making most of his appearances off the bench, Dzeko has gone on to become the leading goal scorer at Manchester City. The striker has come off the bench and scored four of his six goals in this manner. This record is quite phenomenal, considering
the striker is third choice at the club behind http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez.
In the game against West Brom, it looked like Manchester City were going to lose out, despite being the stronger team on paper.
However, a second half appearances from Dzeko was all that the team needed in order to go on and pick up all three points. As the player scored two goals, which helped the team win by two goals to one at the end of the day.
With Dzeko feeling a little reluctant to become only a substitute at the club, the striker went on to reveal his ambitions, as he went on to state: "The manager is there to pick the team and I'm there when the team needs me"
"But I was never a super-sub, even before I came to Manchester City."
“I always used to play from the beginning [for Wolfsburg] and I scored a lot of goals - not as a sub.”
"In the last few games the situation has been like this and I'm just happy to be scoring goals but I will never be a super-sub, I want to play."
The Manchester City team coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Platt has gone on to dismiss rumours that Dzeko will be used as only a sub, as he insisted that he will have plenty of chances to shine in the lime light, and that it is only a matter of time before he becomes a first
team regular, should he continue to perform as he is.
“Edin won't have that tag [of super-sub] because he will get his starts like every other player will get their starts," said Platt.
