E T Parker is delighted after Mountjoy rock’s third consecutive victory in Belle Vue
The 2011 John Smith’s Peterborough Derby champion, Mountjoy Rock, enjoyed his third consecutive victory in the Belle Vue Standard. The black dog was the purse winner of £10000 previously in the John Smith’s Peterborough Derby final, which was scheduled on
the 6th of August 2011.
The three-year-old greyhound with his outclass run covered the 470 meters distance and won the purse for trainer E T Parker.
On the 25th of August 2011 the lucky champ gave a hit in the race by being first one to cross the finish line. The race was held at the same venue in Belle Vue, covering the distance of 470 meters.
On the 1st September 2011 the second open race was held, six hounds were prepared to set the track on fire, among them was Mountjoy Rock who grabbed the spot light after winning the purse of £150.
Black Shaw’s son out of Noelles Amarillo began his victory chase from trap 1. The swift hound was quick from the start of the race, gradually as he came near the wire he cleared his path by leaving all his contenders behind. The tough hound railed through
the middle and with amazing timings he gave a hit.
Mountjoy Rock covered his distance in 27 minutes and 52 seconds.
Trainer G Oswald’s Yahoo Murroe, who was 6 ½ lengths behind the winner tried his level best to come first in the race, but he finished by the skin of his teeth.
As the trap 2 was opened the black and white hound raced as fast as he could, but his speed and effort was not enough to win the purse, his total time in which he covered the distance was 28 minutes and 4 seconds.
Yahoo Murroe was ½ a length ahead from trainer H Adamson’s Bellamore Lad who finished third in the race. The three-year-old started his chase from trap 6, as he railed he got crowded very badly by Yahoo Murroe.
Covering the distance in 28 minutes and 8 seconds young hound reached the wire.
Hound who got crowded in the very beginning of his race was Mottee Denis, the black dog was ½ a length behind Bellamore Lad.
The four-year-old forced himself to rail through his five contenders, but unluckily he got baulked and bumped which brought him far behind the tough competitors. Covering the 470 meter distance in 28 minutes and 12 seconds declared him forth in the Belle
Vue Standard.
1 length behind from Mottee Denis was Droopys Tevez, who started his chase from trap 5 for trainer I E Walker.
The black dog bumped in and got crowded by Yahoo Murroe and Mottee Denis in the mid way, this situation made him finish fifth in the race by covering the distance in 28 minutes and 20 seconds.
Delwood Roko who was not only the last one to reach the wire, but the black dog was 4 ¾ lengths behind, when Droopys Tevez crossed the finish line.
The total estimated time in which the two-year-old covered his required distance was 28 minutes and 58 seconds.
Apart from the purse winner who won the prize money of £150, the rest of the contenders were rewarded with £25.
