I filed a FAFSA one day after the deadline, and had no idea what the Cal Grant was. Today I received an email that read:

"Dear [richie15_89]

The California Student Aid Commission has received information from your FAFSA, but did not receive a GPA Verification Form. Both are required to receive Cal Grant consideration.

If circumstances beyond your control prevented you from filing your GPA Verification Form by the March 3, 2008, deadline, you can fill out a Late GPA Form to apply for a Cal Grant.

Click here to download the Late GPA Verification Form. Complete this form, have your school certify your GPA and mail it to the address on the form.

To be considered for a Cal Grant we must receive the Late GPA Appeal no later than May 16, 2008.

Send in your Late GPA Appeal today to apply for up to $9,700 in Cal Grant financial aid!

Sincerely,

The California Student Aid Commission"

*I have no clue what to write as to why I did not send it on time. Do I just write "Did not know"...
