E-teaching, e-learning. Any program?

Hello, I am a new teacher. I would like to give my students some courses online. So they can do their homework, assignements online. Please I need to know more about e-teaching and how I can create my own website or program to do so. Thanks for your help.

First, congratulations on your achievement on becoming a teacher ... and kudos to you for expressing an interest in using the online environment as an extension of your classroom!

Before you invest any time, effort, and perhaps dollars in creating an online presence for you and your students, do two things:

(1) Determine if you are permitted to do so at your specific school (and school district)

(2) Determine if templates or programs (say, Blackboard) already exist that you can use.

The answer you receive regarding (1) determines if and how to approach (2).

I have designed, developed and taught online for years and, generally, it is much easier if the templates and programs already exist within the school system as this saves you an enormous amount of time, effort, and $$$$ and allows you to focus your efforts on creating an appropriate learning environment online that you students will actually use.

At a minimum, refrain from moving forward and creating your own website -or anything online- until you have answers to (1) and (2) and approval to move forward.
