I currently am not enrolled in any online trading program and am intrested. I have several questions though.

1: Do I get a online banking account or can I use my current checking account to vent money in and out of?

2: I have around 200 shares in General Electric. Will it show these shares on the database in my portfolio?

Thats all I can think of right now, Add any other helpfull information if you know of any.

thank you

  1. Your brokerage account is not an on-line banking account...it is the account that strictly pertains to your investment portfolio. Your buys and sells, additions or withdrawals are all done on-line in that account...but you don't carry around a checkbook based on that account.

As for your GE shares...they will not show ...only what you buy IN the account will show on your portfolio...but there are sites that let you create a portfolio where you could easily add the GE shares to your newer purchases. ( Yahoo...MSN ..)
