E-trade problem buying stock?

when i go to buy some penny stocks ( at 5:13 pm) this message comes up

Orders for this security cannot be accepted online at this time. For assistance with placing this order, please call Customer Service at 1-800-ETRADE-1 (1-800-387-2331).

this is the second day i have had my etrade account...is my process of buying the stock wrong?

There could two issues.

1) The funds have not cleared your account

2) trying to buy penny stocks after the close.

buying a penny stock after hours is truly a fools game. On the very rare occasion that I've done this....... always use a limit order.  Don't chase the stock..... action in extended hours is usually on very low volume. A  100 share order on a penney stock can effect it's price severly.

On top of that..... you're not calling the 800 number they give you??????? what's with that????????????

The last place for new traders is penny stocks.  Take a few year to learn this stuff before you risk your money.
