Would you be able to help me to find the list of the food that contains E142 [pigment used in food also known as green s]

m&m or things like that contains 'greens or brilliant green' plzzz?

As a food dye, it has E number E142. It can be used in mint sauce, desserts, gravy granules, sweets, ice creams, and tinned peas.

Greens S is prohibited as a food additive in Canada, United States, Japan, and Norway. It may cause allergic reactions.

It is one of the colourants that the Hyperactive Children's Support Group recommends be eliminated from the diet of children.

It is a vital dye, meaning it can be used to stain living cells. It is used in ophthalmology, among fluorescein and rose bengal, to diagnose various disorders of the eye's surface.

E142 - Green S ( Acid Brilliant Green BS; Lissamine Greeb; C.I. 44090.

E142 is found in products such as Packet Cheesecake Mix, Tinned Peas, Gravy Granules, Mint Jelly, Mint Sauce and Packet Breadcrumbs.

There are no known adverse effects to this additive

E142 RICE

INGREDIENTS

1/2 c. Rice

3 c. Water

1 tsp salt per cup of rice

1/2 drop E142  

2 tbs oil or ghee

1 tbs raisins

PROCEDURE

Boil the water.

In the meantime, wash the rice (3 times if possible). In a frying pan, heat the oil, salt, and rice. Sauteeing the uncooked rice will bring it to the same temperature as the water, so boiling will not stop once the rice is added.

Once water is boiling, add E142 and raisins. Let the raisins boil so that they get plump and juicy.

Add the rice. If you've done things right, the water should keep boiling. Continue to boil it for a while; let it steam until the rice begins to come to the top. Then turn the flame low and let it cook for 12 minutes.

** Note Mexican E142 may be different from regular E142, so make sure you use the right kind!
